Nice to meet you!
My name is Miri, I’m 27 years old, and I live in Tel Aviv (Israel) with my husband, Avi.
Avi & me (Volterra, Italy)
I’m a software engineer during the days (currently on a 4 months vacation - June to October, in order to finish my degree at last, after 5 long years…), and dream of becoming a professional baker most of the time. My history with the love of food began in my early years, while spending lots of time in my grandma’s kitchen, smelling every pot or pan that was ever there, and helping with small chores that I could do. In a Romanian family (as in many others) food has a very important spot from 2 points of view - the first is eating it - it was crucial that I would finish eveything on my plate, and the second is making it. My grandma spent a large part of her time in the kitchen, and so did all the family. It was the main room of the house, and the place where everything happened.
My history with cooking and baking began almost an year ago, while being in a long illness vacation (as I wrote in my first post on the blog). It was then that I also discovered the great world of food blogs, through Chanit’s lovely blog My mom’s recipes and more. It took me some time to come to the conclusion that I want to start my own food blog, though.
The name of the blog was born almost instinctively, me being a foodie that always, no matter how much food she had eaten in previous courses, will always, always have a little room for dessert.
The photographs in this blog are all (except the ones I appear in) taken by me, sometimes using a Nikon D70s camera and most of the time, starting August 2008, using our new Nikon D300 camera, mostly with a Sigma 70 mm Macro lens.
Here is the place to thank Avi, who tought me everything I know about photography (there’s still a long way for me to go until I take beautiful photos like he does). Avi was a professional photographer before becoming a software engineer, and nowadays photography remained a big hobby of his. If you want to see some of the gorgeous photos he took, you can do it here, or here, and also here. You can browse the photos using the numbers on the bottom (the interface of the web site is in Hebrew, but luckily the photos don’t need translation
).
Starting now (August 2008), you can also read and watch his wonderful photos on his new English photography blog.
